Product Description
The NectarNest is a round formicarium that will work well for displaying any ant colony. It features ledges around the top part of the nest that are specifically targeted to honey pot ants, which prefer to hang from above. The attached outworld is where the worker ants will forage for food and the nest is where the queen will live with her brood.
The NectarNest includes a small round water reservoir with stainless steel mesh covering it. The evaporating water is absorbed by the gypsum cement which maintains a consistently humid environment. It is necessary to add water to the reservoir weekly by using the included syringe and blunt tipped needle. Fill the needle with 3ml of water and push it into the silicon tubing on the side of the nest. Observe the water reservoir as it fills with water from the syringe and make sure the water level doesn’t go past the halfway mark. If it is overfilled, it will slowly leak, directly touching the gypsum and causing too much humidity.
