Description
The NectarNest is a round formicarium (ant farm) that will work well for displaying any ant colony. It is especially enjoyed by ants that prefer a more humid environment. The attached outworld is where the worker ants will forage for food and the nest is where the queen will live with her brood.
The NectarNest includes a small round water reservoir with stainless steel mesh covering it. The evaporating water is absorbed by the gypsum cement which maintains a consistently humid environment. It is necessary to add water to the reservoir weekly by using the included syringe and blunt tipped needle. Fill the needle with 3ml of water and push it into the silicon tubing on the side of the nest. Observe the water reservoir as it fills with water from the syringe and make sure the water level doesn’t go past the halfway mark. If it is overfilled, it will slowly leak, directly touching the gypsum and causing too much humidity.

I don’t suggest buying this as it has no way of feeding the ants from the top or side the idea is cute but again no feeder hole is the big disappointment

Hi Malichai, Thanks for your feedback! The ants are fed via the foraging outworld—just open the lid and add food there. This setup lets ants decide what to bring into their nest, which is best for their care.

Great nest, good size and the water tower is easy to refill, good access to the outworld to feed or remove anything. Great view to look at and take pictures of any ants.
