What’s Covered
If you include Queen Insurance with your order of P. occidentalis, you’re eligible for one colony replacement if the queen dies of natural causes during your chosen coverage window, and you followed our care standards.

- Housing: appropriate formicarium size and ventilation (See care info on the product page.)
- Heating: maintained within the recommended temperature range (See care info on the product page.)
- Feeding: approved diet and frequency (See care info on the product page.)
What’s Not Covered
- Neglect or improper care (e.g., overheating, freezing, starvation)
- Escapes or physical trauma during unboxing/setup
- Colonies without a verifiable deceased queen
Shipping Cost
The replacement colony is free with a valid claim. You pay shipping, typically similar to your original order’s shipping cost. We’ll invoice shipping before sending the replacement.
How to File a Claim
- Email support@antgear.com with your order number.
- Include photos of your setup and of the deceased queen.
- Upon approval, we’ll send a shipping invoice.
- After payment, we’ll ship your replacement colony.
