Why PVA Sponges? There are several reasons why PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol) sponges may be preferred over cotton for test tube setups:
- Mold Resistance: Cotton molds easily which is a concern if it is yellow, green, or pink. PVA sponges are more resistant to mold than cotton.
- Durability: PVA sponges are more durable than cotton.
- No Threading: Cotton threads easily when pulled on by ants and they can get dangerously caught up in the threading.

This is a good option if you want to go fancy but it also helps, contain a little bit more moisture and also, it can save you a little bit more money but I highly don’t recommend this for small species Because I don’t even know if they drink water from But you can try right now I’m testing them with small ones
