Description
Designed specifically for Acromyrmex versicolor, the Acropolis is our modular Acro Pod nest expansion system. It allows your leafcutter colony to expand naturally into new pods as their fungus garden grows. When one pod becomes full, the ants simply move into the next — and eventually, every pod in the system will be bustling with life.
We’ve found that Acromyrmex versicolor thrive in smaller nest chambers. The compact space helps them regulate humidity and maintain their fungal garden efficiently. Colonies typically outgrow a pod every 6–8 months, depending on size and conditions.
To start, keep the included nest plugs in place on the unused pod ports so your ants can focus on establishing their first chamber. Once they’re ready to expand, simply remove a plug and connect a new pod — it’s that easy.
