Camponotus ocreatus is the largest camponotus in Arizona and is arguably the most beautiful as well. These are large golden ants. When majors develop (usually after 1 year), they are almost as big as the queen. They are mild tempered and fun to watch.

Difficulty
Medium. This species may need diapause (hybernation) and it tends to be slower growing than most camponotus species.
